Even before the Empire was created, before the final War, the Immortal Horses allied themselves with the descendants of the Wind.
Their speed, strength and and strong spiritual abilities were vital in the victories of the House that would later be named 'the Grey Horse', in their honor.
Even today, only descendants from that house may ride a purebred Immortal Horse. And only a Captain is ever allowed to ride one that has learned to ride the wind.

This is Azure, an Immortal Horse. Her line is better known as a 'winged unicorn' or 'alicorn'. According to Greek mythology, the Immortal Horses were the horses of the gods.
The Immortal horses are not actually immortal, but like any demi they can recover from grave injuries, and some have been known to live longer than even human demis.
Azure is the partner of Captain Zephyr (Up and Away)
